Download & Unzip

Download the plugin using the button above.

  1. Locate the downloaded file: AI_LightLab.zip
  2. Double-click to unzip — you'll get a folder called AI LightLab.lrplugin
  3. Move it to a permanent location (e.g., Documents/Lightroom Plugins/)
Important: Do not place the plugin inside the Adobe application folder. Use a personal folder like Documents or Desktop.

Install in Lightroom Classic

  1. Open Lightroom Classic
  2. Go to File > Plugin Manager
  3. Click Add
  4. Navigate to the AI LightLab.lrplugin folder and select it
  5. The plugin should appear in the list with a green dot (Installed and running)

Start Using — Trial or License

Free Trial: No activation needed! The plugin starts in trial mode automatically with 6 free credits. Just open it and start processing right away.

Have a license key? Enter it to unlock your full account with 20+ credits.

  1. In Lightroom, go to File > Plugin Manager
  2. Select AI LightLab from the list
  3. In the settings panel on the right, paste your License Key
  4. Click Activate License — the plugin switches to your licensed account instantly
Tip: Your license key works on up to 2 computers (Basic) or 10 computers (Agency). You can deactivate a device and activate a new one anytime.

Start Using AI LightLab

  1. Select one or more photos in your Lightroom catalog
  2. Go to File > Plugin Extras > AI LightLab
  3. Choose a preset (or multiple presets) from the tabs: Interior, Exterior, Retouch
  4. Select your resolution: 2K (1 credit) or 4K (2 credits)
  5. Click Process with AI
  6. The enhanced photo will be imported back into your catalog automatically
Keep editing! While AI processes your photo (30–180 seconds), you can continue working in Lightroom. The result will appear in your catalog when ready.

Buy More Credits

The trial includes 6 free credits. Licensed accounts start with 20 credits. When you need more, use the Buy Credits button directly inside the plugin — either in the main processing dialog or in the Plugin Manager under the Credits section.

Trial users: When your 6 free credits run out, purchase a license to continue with 20 more credits and access to credit packs.
Important: Always purchase credits using the Buy Credits button inside the plugin. This ensures your license key is linked to the order and credits are added automatically to your account.

After completing the purchase, click Check Credits in the plugin to see your updated balance.

Credits never expire. Use them at your own pace. No subscription, no monthly fees.

Troubleshooting

The plugin doesn't appear in Lightroom
Make sure you selected the .lrplugin folder itself (not a file inside it). Also ensure you're using Lightroom Classic, not the cloud version of Lightroom.
License key says "Invalid or expired"
Double-check for extra spaces when pasting. If the issue persists, contact us at info@ailightlab.com with your order number.
Processing takes too long or seems stuck
Processing time depends on the AI servers' current load. 2K usually takes 10–60 seconds; 4K can take up to 3 minutes. If processing exceeds 5 minutes, cancel it by clicking the X button on the progress bar, then try again — the AI servers may be temporarily overloaded. Your credits are automatically refunded on timeout or error, so you won't lose any. Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
"Request too large" error
This should not happen with the latest version. If you see this error, please download the latest plugin version from your Lemon Squeezy order page and reinstall.
The AI result looks different from what I expected
AI results can vary. Try the same preset again — each generation is slightly different. You can also use the Custom Prompt field to give specific instructions for more control.
Can I use the plugin on Mac and Windows?
Yes! AI LightLab works on both platforms. Your license key works on up to 2 computers (Basic) or 10 (Agency).
Can I export AI-enhanced photos with Content Credentials?
No. Photos generated by the plugin cannot be exported from Lightroom with Content Credentials (C2PA) applied. This is a limitation of how Lightroom handles AI-generated images. If you need Content Credentials on your exports, make sure to disable them for photos processed with AI LightLab.
