1. Introduction

AI LightLab ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable EU privacy laws.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the Service:

• Account Information — Name and email address (provided through Lemon Squeezy at purchase).
• License Key — A unique key assigned to your purchase, used for authentication.
• Machine Identifier — A one-way hash (DJB2) of your computer's hostname and username. We cannot reverse this hash to identify your machine. It is used solely to enforce per-device licensing.
• Credit Balance — Your current credit count, stored on our servers.
• Photos (Temporary) — Images you submit for AI processing. See Section 3 for details.

3. How Your Photos Are Processed

When you use AI LightLab to enhance a photo:

• Your image is uploaded to our API server hosted on Cloudflare.
• The image is forwarded to Google Gemini (Google's AI service) for processing.
• The enhanced image is returned to the plugin and imported into your Lightroom catalog.
• Temporary image data on our servers is automatically deleted after processing is complete.
• We do not store, archive, or use your photos for any purpose other than the requested enhancement.
• We do not use your photos to train AI models.

Google's processing of your images is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Google Gemini processes images as part of an API request and does not retain them for training purposes under our commercial agreement.

4. Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record. We do not directly collect or store your payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses). Lemon Squeezy's handling of your payment data is governed by their own Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage and Security

• Account data and credit balances are stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure, which is encrypted at rest and in transit.
• API communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
• Machine identifiers are stored as irreversible hashes.
• We implement rate limiting and access controls to protect against unauthorized access.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with the following third-party services, strictly for operating the Service:

• Google (Gemini API) — Receives your photos for AI processing.
• Lemon Squeezy — Handles payments and license management.
• Cloudflare — Hosts our API infrastructure and provides security services.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights:

• Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Erasure — Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — Object to processing of your data.
• Restriction — Request limited processing of your data.

8. Cookies

Our website does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. No cookies are set by the AI LightLab plugin.

9. Data Retention

• Account data — Retained as long as your license is active. Deleted upon request or 2 years after last activity.
• Photos — Deleted immediately after processing. Not retained.
• Transaction records — Retained by Lemon Squeezy per their policies and applicable tax/accounting laws.

10. Children's Privacy

AI LightLab is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Significant changes will be communicated via email.
